Visiting a local village in the Masai Mara, I noticed this lady who seemed a bit unhappy. I sat down next to her & with no common language other than humor, I wiggled my nostrils - she laughed to the extreme. One quick photo captured this fantastic face and the real happiness within. In the southwestern corner of Kenya is this 600 square mile reserve loaded with African animals and the Masai tribe, numbering about 900,000 men and women.

A few facts about the life the women. They cannot own property,but work more than the men by design, build the home with sticks and mud, milk the cows(primary nutrition), prepare all the food, fetch the firewood, collect the water, clean the clothes, make the bead-work for the whole family; and finally prepare the bed for her husband who sleeps first. Now I know that my new found friend was not so much unhappy, just tired.
